"New Colio winemaker, Tim Reilly, has plenty to smile about these days. He's made the first ever Shiraz in Colio history and he's getting the freehand to put his stamp on other wines as well as branching out to make new ones. Take this Chardonnay Musqué for instance, it might seem very one-dimensional on the nose...apple; but the palate shows complexity: golden delicious apples, tasty refreshing lemon, a touch of fizzante (spritz) and a nice softness on the tongue. The wine went through partial maloactic fermentation (softening of acids), approximately 50%, so it's creamy with a bit of bite...nice. Plus with a kiss of sweetness (1) it sure is a delicious crowd pleaser, great for end of summer get togethers."

"This lives up to its breeding—it's an aromatic clone of Chardonnay—with highly perfumed orange blossom, spice box and honey aromas. It's medium bodied and fully textured, almost creamy, with citrus, ripe yellow peach and cantaloupe flavours. It's zesty, crisp and clean on the medium-length perfectly balanced finish. Pair this with roast chicken with dried fruit stuffing or pan-seared white fish."
