Winemakers Notes:
A cool spring with relatively normal rainfall was followed by a hot, dry summer with an extended warm, dry autumn creating excellent ripening conditions for the Bordeaux varietals that demand just that. The award-winning wines that wear our CEV label are the ultimate expression of our winemaker's art: limited quantity, ultrapremium, hand-crafted VQA wines.
"Now maturing nicely, this even-handed, complex cab franc will have Bordeaux fans chattering. Good color depth, ruby-garnet, some evolution. Generous, complex nose of leather, tobacco, currant, cranberry, earth and lead pencil. Mid-weight, well-balanced and fairly dry, but not the least bit austere. Good fruit at the core. Very good length. Best now to 2012." 90 points
